New Permanent Observer of the International Anti-Corruption Academy presents credentials

VIENNA, 5 September (UN Information Service) - The new Permanent Observer of the International Anti-Corruption to the United Nations (Vienna), Slagjana Taseva, presented her credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Ghada Waly.

During her career, Ms. Taseva, who is Dean of the International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA) has served in various capacities, among them:

Senior Anti-Corruption and Anti-Money Laundering export for programmes of the European Union, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), the UN Development Programme (UNDP) and the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ); co-founded the Legal Consulting Company, EURISK Consulting, (2010); headed the delegation for North Macedonia to the Council of Europe's anti-corruption body, GRECO (2007-2012); Dean of the Faculty for Detectives and Criminalists at the European University in Skopje (2008-2009); Vice President of the Association of the European Police Colleges (2006-2008); Director of the Police Academy in Skopje (2004-2006); participated in numerous evaluations as an expert of the Council of Europe's Committee of Experts on the Evaluation of Anti-Money Laundering Measures and the Financing of Terrorism (MONEYVAL) (2000-2005); and served as the first President of the Anti-Corruption Commission of North Macdonia, the first Chair of Transparency International Macedonia and former Committee member of the Afghanistan International Anti-Corruption Monitoring and Evaluation Committee.

Ms. Taseva holds a Ph.D. in law from Sts. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje.
