City of Valdosta Announces Sand Pickup Locations in Preparation for Expected Weather
In preparation for the predicted storm, the City of Valdosta is providing three locations where residents can pick up sand to help with storm preparedness. Sand and sandbags will be available at the following locations; however, residents are asked to bring their own shovels to fill the bags. Sandbags are limited to ten bags per family. Below are the three locations:
- 5 Points
- Intersection of Lee Street and Savannah Street
- 901 West Hill (former recycling center)
The City encourages all residents to take advantage of these resources to ensure their homes and property are properly safeguarded against potential flooding and storm damage. For more information, please contact the Public Works Department at (229) 259-3588.
