The NOPD is investigating a homicide that occurred November 3, 2024 in the 700 block of Tchoupitoulas Street that left one man dead.

Around 6:30 p.m., NOPD Eighth District officers responded to the call of a shooting at the location. Upon arrival, officers found a 24-year-old male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. EMS arrived and pronounced the victim deceased.

Investigators say the victim was outside when he was approached by an unknown subject who shot him multiple times and then fled. Initial reports indicate the victim was the intended target of the shooting.

Detectives are in the process of gathering information to identify the person(s) responsible for this incident as well as a motive. No additional information is currently available.

The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office will conduct an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death and to officially identify the victim. Announcement of this information will come from the Coroner's Office.
