Consistently recognized for providing students a comprehensive education in the creative arts, the Bowling Green State University graphic design program has been ranked among the best in the nation for 2024 by Animation Career Review.

In this year's rankings, the BGSU graphic design program ranked No. 42 among public colleges and universities nationally, No. 18 in the Midwest and No. 4 in Ohio. Additionally, for animation, the University ranked No. 19 nationally among public colleges and universities, No. 12 in the Midwest and No. 4 in Ohio.

Jenn Stucker, chair of the graphic design program, said that as one of the largest art schools among public universities in Ohio, the BGSU School of Art empowers students with a comprehensive variety of disciplines and experiential programming opportunities.

"The success of the BGSU graphic design program is our multidimensional approach to student support," Stucker said. "Our students take courses through a cohort structure which builds community. Students also benefit from internships while immersing themselves in various portfolio and professional projects. When you factor in our world-class faculty and an incredible network of involved BGSU alumni, our students are empowered with opportunities to grow and succeed."

Housed in the College of Art and Sciences, the BGSU School of Art offers programs that inspire innovation, creativity and success across five disciplines, including studio art, digital arts, graphic design, art education and art history.

"We empower students to learn across various disciplines in the arts to build lifelong learning skills of curiosity, creative thinking and problem-solving," Stucker said.

Deepening its commitment to student experience and opportunity in the arts, BGSU recently announced an anonymous $5 million donation to the School of Art.

Among the largest donations to benefit the arts in BGSU history, the transformational gift will provide opportunities for students to enhance their knowledge through study abroad, internships, professional development, hands-on training and investment in new technologies and establishes the RING Center for Experiential Learning in Art and Design.

"We are very excited about continuing our success through this generous gift to the BGSU School of Art," Stucker said. "This gift will allow us to extend experiential learning opportunities for our students."
