Baku Military College held event 'Heart burning like a torch'

The event "Heart burning like a torch" was held on the occasion of the 55th anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev's coming to political power in the Heydar Aliyev museum-lecture of the Baku Military College under the National Defense University.
The event was attended by representatives of the Defense Ministry, professor-teaching staff and cadets of the National Defense University.
The ceremony commenced with commemorating the bright memory of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev and Shehids, who sacrificed their lives for the independence of Azerbaijan. The National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was performed.
The guests got acquainted with the exposition reflecting wide heritage of the Great Leader in the "Heydar Aliyev museum-lecture".
The speakers talked about the reforms in the socio-political life of Azerbaijan after the election of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev as the first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Azerbaijan and emphasized that Azerbaijan has become one of the most advanced republics of the union in a short period of time.
It was pointed out that Heydar Aliyev's visionary establishment of the current Military Lyceum named after Jamshid Nakhchivanski in 1971 was one of the main steps taken in the formation of the officer staff of the Azerbaijan Army.
The event noted that at the insistence of the Azerbaijani people in June 1993 Heydar Aliyev was brought to power, his exceptional merits in the creation, formation and transformation of the modern Azerbaijan Army into an organized force, and the glorious victory of the Azerbaijan Army in the Patriotic War under the leadership of the worthy successor of the great leader, Victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev.
At the end, a short video reflecting the life and political activities of the National Leader was demonstrated.
The event ended with performances by soloists of the Army Ideological and Cultural Center named after Hazi Aslanov.
