Secretary of State Diego Morales Continues Next Round of Delivering Election Improvement Grants

PIKE COUNTY- (August 22, 2024) - Secretary of State Diego Morales has begun another round of visiting several counties to hand deliver local Election Improvement Grants. Today, he made stops in Brown County, Monroe County, Martin County, and Pike County. More stops are planned.

Since the start of the year, Secretary Morales has delivered grant checks to more than 70 Indiana counties for local election security, safety, and voter outreach projects. The counties are receiving grant dollars from the Federal Help America Vote Act to go towards local election improvement and security efforts. This new round of statewide grants is valued at approximately $1 million.

Previous funding has been utilized for a wide variety of improvements such as voter outreach efforts, additional signage, security upgrades, and more. Many counties implemented election improvements for the Primary Election.

"As this year's election approaches, it is more important than ever to ensure that our county clerks have the tools and resources they need to conduct secure elections. By providing these election improvement grants, we are not just funding projects; we are investing in the integrity of our election process and in the trust Hoosiers place in it," said Diego Morales, Indiana Secretary of State. Secretary Morales strongly encourages every eligible Hoosier to register to vote prior to the upcoming October 7^th registration deadline and vote in the November 5^th General Election.

Secretary Morales visited with county clerks and their teams in Brown, Monroe, Martin, and Pike Counties to thank them and offer assistance for the upcoming General Election.
