Temporary closure of Kawailoa Transfer Station

HONOLULU - The City and County of Honolulu Department of Environmental Services (ENV) announces the temporary closure of the Kawailoa Transfer Station to the public, private contractors, and city haulers both Monday, Aug. 19, and Wednesday, Aug. 28.

These closures are necessary to accommodate the installation of a new HECO meter and socket along with a load-out crane.

ENV understands the inconvenience this may cause and appreciates the public's understanding and cooperation. During this time, please either hold your trash until the transfer station reopens or use an alternative city disposal facility.
