Sidney Troopers respond to two-vehicle crash in Otsego County

On August 15, 2024, at approximately 3:14 p.m., New York State Police at Sidney responded to a two-vehicle crash on State Highway 28 in Otsego.

A preliminary investigation indicated that a van was being operated by Jackson M. Diliberto, age 21 of Richfield Springs, NY. Diliberto was traveling south on State Highway 28 when he crossed the center double yellow lines and struck a Nissan SUV that was traveling northbound. The Nissan went off the road, overturned and landed on its roof.

The van contained 11 passengers:

• 23-year-old female
• 17-year-old male
• 8-year-old female
• 7-year-old female
• 8-year-old male
• 8-year-old female
• 9-year-old female
• 10-year-old female
• 7-year-old female
• 9-year-old male
• 9-year-old female

The driver of the Nissan SUV, Amy R. Valentine, age 65 of West Winfield, NY was transported to Bassett Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Three children from the van, 9-year-old male, 9-year-old female and 7-year-old female went to Bassett Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
