AIGA Maine is excited to announce our third annual poster exhibition, "Feast Your Eyes," slated to open in Portland, Maine, this October 2024 at Portland Media Center. As a premier showcase for design excellence, the event invites members of the design community to submit their creative poster designs for consideration.
With a thematic focus on the realms of food and drink, "Feast Your Eyes" aims to spotlight the influence of culinary experiences in shaping cultural identity and fostering communal connections. Recognizing Maine's burgeoning reputation as a culinary destination, this year's exhibition seeks to celebrate the rich tapestry of flavors, traditions, and social nuances intertwined with food and drink.
"We are thrilled to invite designers from near and far to explore the myriad interpretations of our 'Feast Your Eyes' theme," remarked Katherine Palmatier, AIGA Maine President. "Whether it's a whimsical ode to the joy of dining, a profound exploration of cultural culinary customs, or a thought-provoking commentary on societal issues, we welcome diverse expressions that encapsulate the essence of culinary artistry."
Curated through a juried selection process, chosen entries will be showcased at Portland Media Center as of October 4, 2024, coinciding with Portland's renowned First Friday festivities. An open reception is planned that evening from 5:30-8:00 at Portland Media Center, with all members of the general public invited to attend.
