Project is Located:

HAMMOND, ST LAWRENCE COUNTY

Project Description:

Dredge a 40'x30' area (1,200 square feet) around an existing dock, removing approximately 89 cubic yards of fill. The dredged area will not expand more than 15' off either side of the dock. A 100'x15' navigation channel (1,500 square feet) extending southwest of the dredged area around the existing dock will also be dredged. Approximately 111 cubic yards of fill will be removed to create the navigation channel. The cattails along the shoreline will not be removed or disturbed during the dredging.

This project will occur within state regulated wetland CB-7. In total, approximately 200 cubic yards of fill will be removed via suction dredging and dewatered into a manmade pond on site. The dewatered dredge spoils will be screened and used as topsoil in an upland location.

State Environmental Quality Review (SEQR) Determination:

Project is not subject to SEQR because it is a Type II action.

SEQR Lead Agency: None Designated

State Historic Preservation Act (SHPA) Determination:

The proposed activity is not subject to review in accordance with SHPA. The application type is exempt and/or the project involves the continuation of an existing operational activity.

Coastal Management:

This project is not located in a Coastal Management area and is not subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.

DEC Commissioner Policy 29, Environmental Justice and Permitting (CP-29)

It has been determined that the proposed action is not subject to CP-29.

Opportunity for Public Comment:

Comments on this project must be submitted in writing to the Contact Person no later than Oct 3, 2024.
