BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Consistently recognized for promoting nonpartisan civic engagement, Bowling Green State University has been named one of the most engaged campuses for college student voting by ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge.

The honor by the Washington-based voting advocacy group recognizes colleges and universities nationwide making intentional efforts to increase nonpartisan democratic engagement and student voting.

To be considered for the distinction, BGSU had to share National Study of Learning, Voting and Engagement (NSLVE) reports, develop a nonpartisan democratic engagement action plan, submit a letter of commitment to support student voting and participate in the ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge.

"We are honored to see the collective efforts of the BGSU learning community being recognized for the important work of promoting civic engagement," said Kendra Lutes, associate director of the C. Raymond Marvin Center for Student Leadership and Civic Engagement. "BGSU empowers students to take an active role in the democratic process through voting and other forms of civic engagement, and this recognition underscores our collective commitment to promoting nonpartisan participation that contributes to a healthy democracy."

Ahead of November's election, the University was honored by ALL IN for its comprehensive efforts to increase student voter participation through student-run BGSU Votes. Housed in the Marvin Center for Student Leadership and Civic Engagement, the student-led initiative also received a Gold Excellence Award from NASPA, Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education, for creating a community of informed and active student voters.

BGSU has participated in ALL IN initiatives since 2016 and was honored as a silver campus in 2018, 2020 and 2022 for its voting percentage rate and also earned "Highly Established Action Plan" honors in 2022 and 2024, respectively.
