Among them are key leaders in public safety, including the Chiefs of Staff of two of the city's largest agencies: New York City Emergency Management (NYCEM) and the New York City Police Department (NYPD).

On this episode of ¡Prepárate!, NYCEM Chief of Staff Yokarina Duarte and Community Engagement Specialist Emely Rodriguez sit down with NYPD Chief of Staff Raul Pintos to discuss his remarkable career at the NYPD, the importance of Hispanic leader, and some of the latest NYPD initiatives aimed at keeping the city safe. Pintos, who has dedicated over three decades to the NYPD, shares invaluable insights and advice for young people, particularly those considering a career in law enforcement. This episode offers a rare opportunity to learn from some of the most influential Hispanic leaders in New York City's public safety landscape.

Profile

Raul Pintos is the Chief of Staff to the 46th Police Commissioner of the City of New York. Chief Pintos joined the New York City Police Department in October 1990 and began his career in the Bronx's 49th Precinct. Since then, he has worked in several precincts and support commands as he rose through the ranks. As an executive, he served as commanding officer of the 72nd Precinct, Central Park Precinct, and the Office of the Chief of Community Affairs. In 2016, Chief Pintos was tapped to serve as then Police Commissioner Bratton's Executive Operations Coordinator. In January 2022, Chief Pintos became the Chief of Staff to the First Deputy Commissioner and served in that position until July 2023 when Police Commissioner Edward Caban appointed him to his current role. Chief Pintos holds a Master's in Human Resource Management from Seton Hall University. He is also a graduate of Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government and the Executive Leaders Program at the Naval Postgraduate School. Chief Pintos and his wife, Angelica, are the proud parents of three adult children.

Perfil

Raul Pintos es el jefe de gabinete del Comisionado número 46 de la Policía de la Ciudad de Nueva York.

Chief Pintos se unió al Departamento de Policía de la Ciudad de Nueva York en octubre de 1990 y comenzó su carrera en el Precinto 49 del Bronx. Desde entonces, ha trabajado en diferentes precintos, a medida que ascendía de rangos. Como ejecutivo de la Policía de New York, se desempeñó como comandante del Precinto 72, comandante del Precinto del Parque Central y trabajo en la Oficina del Jefe de Asuntos Comunitarios. En 2016, Chief Pintos fue elegido para desempeñarse como Coordinador Ejecutivo de Operaciones del entonces Comisionado de Policía William Bratton.
