President Meloni’s telephone conversation with President Vučić

The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, had a telephone conversation today with the President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić. The call focused on the excellent bilateral cooperation between Italy and Serbia which, 15 years on from the signing of the Strategic Partnership Declaration, has increasing room for further consolidation in all areas of common interest.

Particular attention was also paid to the issue of safeguarding peace and regional stability, and the importance of the EU-facilitated Dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina.

President Meloni reaffirmed Italy's support for the European Union reunification process for Serbia and the entire Western Balkans region. Lastly, the two leaders agreed to organise the next Intergovernmental Summit by the end of the year.
