Washington, DC - Today, Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09), Ranking Member of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Energy and Water Development, celebrated the achievements of two companies from Ohio's 9th District, Spartan Chemical Company of Maumee and JAWS International, Ltd. a Division of Canberra Corporation of Toledo, for being honored as 2024 EPA Safer Choice Partner of the Year award recipients. These local leaders have been recognized by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for their commitment to producing and promoting products that prioritize human health, environmental safety, and sustainable practices.

The EPA's 2024 Safer Choice Partner of the Year Awards recognizes 43 companies and organizations nationwide for their exemplary commitment to the production, promotion, and use of products with safer chemical ingredients. The awardees, including manufacturers, retailers, associations, and non-profits, demonstrate significant leadership in advancing safer products that protect human health and the environment.
