State Police arrest Middleburgh Registered Sex Offender for Forci...

On July 25, 2024, State Police of Princetown arrested Chris Wainwright, 61, of Middleburgh, NY, for Forcible Touching and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

On July 1, 2024, State Police received information eluding to a past sexual assault of a child. The investigation determined Wainwright allegedly forcibly and inappropriately touched a child under the age of 16 in the winter of 2023 at a residence in Middleburgh, NY. Further investigation discovered Wainwright is a registered level 3 sex offender, due to a previous sexual assault conviction against children.

Wainwright was arrested and processed at SP Cobleskill. He was arraigned at the Schoharie County Centralized Arraignment Part Court and remanded to the Schoharie County Correctional Facility in lieu of $2,500 bail, $10,000 bond, or a $25,000 partially secured bond.
