National Retail Federation Recognizes Sen. Rick Scott as ‘Hero of Main Street’

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, Senator Rick Scott was recognized as a 2024 "Hero of Main Street" by the National Retail Federation (NRF). The "Hero of Main Street" award was created by NRF in 2013 to recognize lawmakers for their support of the retail industry, which is the nation's largest private-sector employer, driving the U.S. economy and creating jobs in communities throughout the country. In Florida, retail directly supports more than 2.3 million local jobs and contributes more than $357.4 billion in economic activity.

Senator Rick Scott said, "Florida's retail industry is a huge part of what drives our economy forward and I am proud to be a champion for the hardworking retail businesses across the Sunshine State that support more than 2.3 million Florida jobs.
