Prague bourse firms, with CEZ, VIG among among main gainers

Prague, May 13 (CTK) - The Prague Stock Exchange (BCPP) strengthened at the beginning of the week, its headline PX index adding 0.52 percent to 1,558.18 points, with gains recorded mainly by energy company CEZ and insurer VIG, according to data from the bourse's website.

Among the leading issues, Moneta Money Bank and Komercni banka also posted slight gains, while Erste Bank shares weakened.

CEZ shares rose 1.61 percent to Kc917. "CEZ is to release its quarterly results tomorrow (Tuesday) morning, so investors may be speculating on strong figures," said Bohumil Trampota of Komercni banka.

VIG gained almost 2 percent to Kc770 per share.

Among banking titles, Moneta Money Bank rose by 0.31 percent to Kc97.50 and Komercni banka put on 0.19 percent to Kc798. On the other hand, Erste Bank wrote off 0.79 percent, closing at Kc1,125.50.

Among smaller issues, tobacco company Philip Morris and beverage maker Kofola posted slight gains, the former firming by 0.4 percent to Kc14,900, the latter adding 0.36 percent to Kc276.

In contrast, arms maker Colt CZ, drone maker Primoco UAV and metallurgical company Gevorkyan weakened.
