Richmond Registry Staff Member Robert Căzăcuțu Publishes Article in Lumpen Journal

We are pleased to share that Robert Căzăcuțu, Registry Assistant and Staff Representative at Richmond American University London, has recently had his latest article published in Lumpen, a quarterly journal dedicated to amplifying the voices of poor and working-class writers. Since its inaugural issue in 2019, Lumpen has been committed to exploring class identity, oppression, and stigma, both within Britain and on a global scale.

In this, his second contribution to the journal, Robert delves into the belief that immigrants in Britain and worldwide have lost touch with the values that are necessary to resist the "pervasive and invisible hand of Capital." His piece, Rising Above Cynicism: Reclaiming Solidarity in a Capitalist World, highlights the power of political engagement and collective action. Robert writes that "by becoming more politically active in public life, we can demonstrate that integrity and unity are still, and have always been, viable alternatives to the hard-headed cynicism that defines life under capitalism."

At Richmond, we take pride in our commitment to celebrating diversity, fostering inclusion, and supporting underrepresented voices. Our global perspective and multicultural environment are key to our identity, and we are delighted to see members of our community contributing to important conversations about social justice and solidarity.
