Portions of Several Streets to Close Beginning Week of October 7

Lincoln Transportation and Utilities (LTU) today announced that portions of several streets will close beginning the week of October 7. The closures are as follows:
- Northbound 40th Street at "D" Street is closed to traffic for water main repairs. This work is scheduled to be completed by Wednesday, October 16. The recommended route is "A" Street to 48th Street to Randolph Street.
- West Old Cheney Road between South Folsom and Southwest 12th streets will close beginning Tuesday, October 8, for storm sewer work. This work is scheduled to be completed by October 16. The recommended route is U.S. Highway 77 to West Denton Road to South Folsom Street.
- Eastbound Pioneers Boulevard between 40th and 44th streets will close beginning Tuesday, October 8, for wastewater service installation. This work is scheduled to be completed by Tuesday, October 15. The recommended route is Pioneers Boulevard to Nebraska Parkway to 48th Street. Local access to homes in the area will be maintained.
- 70th Street between Travis Drive and Bridle Lane will close from 8 a.m. Wednesday, October 9, to 7 a.m. Thursday, October 10, for railroad track repair. StarTran Route 40-Heart Hospital will be detoured during this work. The recommended route is Pine Lake Road to 56th Street to Yankee Hill Road.
- South Street between 40th Street and Normal Boulevard will close beginning Wednesday, October 9, for pavement repairs. This work is scheduled to be completed by October 25. The recommended route is 40th Street to Normal Boulevard to South Street.
Travelers are encouraged to seek an alternate route and exercise caution around these closures. LTU appreciates the public's patience during these closures and reminds residents that project dates are subject to change due to weather and unforeseen circumstances.
