Dozens of DCHA youth and their families celebrated Halloween during an afternoon outdoor festival near the EnVision Center in Southwest DC. Kids tiptoed through a haunted house, jumped on moon houses, and of course, dressed up in their favorite costumes.
Dressed as little Freddie Kruegers, superheroes, princesses and more, children and their caregivers enjoyed sweet treats like cotton candy, and could take advantage of the many available activities, like getting their face painted, having a sketch artist draw their portrait, playing arcade games or smashing pumpkins. Each child also took home a free bag of Halloween candy.
Executive Director Keith Pettigrew, Deputy Executive Director Nicole Wickliffe and more DCHA staff attended the event and joined in on the fun - with some even dressing in costume!
The Oct. 31 event also included tabling by DCHA staff and other service providers, who offered resources and information on programs for youth, seniors, and families in the District.
