New Audit Follow Up Released Police Property Room

Internal Audit has released a new follow-up report covering operational changes made in response to the Audit of the Police Property Room (PDF) and since the partial Follow-Up Review of the Police Property Room: Procedures (PDF) was issued.

The Police Department has generally improved its policies and procedures related to Property Room controls and management oversight, including revising the General Orders. The Police Station remodel has addressed physical security issues in the property and evidence room and police officers are now required to input collected property and evidence items into the record management system - greatly reducing the risk that items will be lost or stolen.
