Moms And Families Invited To Free Resource Fair Sept. 14

Event Will Take Place At The Historic Fifth Street School 9 A.M.-3 P.M.

Moms and families are invited to the free Mom's Resource Fair from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, at the Historic Fifth Street School, located at 401 S. Fourth St.

The Mom's Resource Fair will feature service providers, activities, games, food trucks and more. Free tickets are available at EventBrite.

For those looking to be a vendor at the resource fair, please email [email protected] or call 702.229.1296.

The resource fair is part of the city's ongoing efforts to support maternal health. Additional support is provided through the Mommy Mentor Program that leverages community volunteers to support healthier pregnancies, moms and babies. The program helps expecting moms navigate this journey with social support from a caring and dedicated volunteer mentor, maternal health education and connection to community resources.

Expecting mothers who participate will be assigned a dedicated and supportive mentor, social support, education and community resources, as well as a community health worker who will help navigate barriers that can impact a healthy and happy pregnancy. Additional services include:

  • Transportation assistance
  • Referrals to childbirth and parenting classes
  • Individualized resources and referrals
  • Monthly mixers that provide a safe space to share experiences and gain valuable insights.

If you are a city of Las Vegas resident and expecting mother interested in the program, please complete an application. Once submitted, a community health worker will reach out within three business days to review program requirements and next steps.

If you are an experienced parent and would like to become a mentor and are able to provide regular social support to an expecting mother for at least 12 months, please complete an application. Qualified candidates will be contacted for a phone interview and orientation meeting.
