Shendong Coal Bu’ertai Mine Identified Surface Fissure with “Sky Eye” Technology

On July 17, with expertise in visual recognition algorithms, the Innovation Lab at Shendong Coal Bu'ertai Mine successfully applied a self-developed aerial photography-based surface fissure visual recognition algorithm. This breakthrough helps swiftly identify fissured areas from thousands of aerial photographs, providing crucial technical support for mine disaster prevention and mitigation.

Traditional methods for observing surface fissures usually involve time-consuming and labor-intensive manual inspections or drone aerial photography cruises. The staff at the mine's Innovation Lab went deep into visual recognition algorithms and, with daily collected aerial data, developed an autonomous recognition algorithm for identifying mining-induced surface fissures. Moreover, they conducted indicator gas detection tests above mined-out areas. By employing drones equipped with high-sensitivity gas detectors for extensive cruising flight, the monitoring and management of surface fissures in these areas were enhanced.
