Tester Statement on the Passing of Butte's Bob Pavlovich

Monday, September 9, 2024

(U.S. Senate) - U.S. Senator Jon Tester today released the following statement on the passing of former Montana State Legislator Bob Pavlovich:

"Bob Pavlovich was a dedicated public servant, fierce advocate for veterans, and pillar of the Butte community. Bob was a force leading the decades-long fight for the Southwest Montana Veterans Home, and it was a great honor to work alongside him to get the home's doors open. His work for southwest Montana veterans will be felt for generations to come, and he will be sorely missed."

Pavlovich owned the Met Tavern in Butte for 50 years, and served in the Montana State Legislature for 20 years. Following his career in public service, he led the decades-long push alongside community veterans to build the Southwest Montana Veterans Home that opened its doors in 2021. Tester worked with Pavlovich to secure the funds necessary to get the Southwest Montana Veterans Home project off the ground and open.
