Join us in Shaping the future of Lake City Floodplain Park

Seattle Parks and Recreation (SPR), in partnership with Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) and Mid Sound Fisheries Enhancement Group, invites community members to join the fourth virtual workshop for the Lake City Floodplain Park project. The workshop will take place on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. via Zoom. Please register here: https://www.lakecityfloodplainpark.com/register to receive the Zoom link upon registration.

This project is a result of an acquired property in Lake City on Thornton Creek and has been a One Seattle effort through partnership with SPU and community groups.

The project, 2318 NE 125th St., will provide a community greenspace that supports a healthier Thornton Creek. Our first few meetings gathered feedback on potential park elements, what the community would like to see in the space and preferred design concept inclusions. We looking forward to this fourth meeting to continue to listen and use the time as a visioning and placemaking opportunity with the community!

The creation of a truly inclusive park is only possible if the needs and dreams of our diverse community are represented throughout the entire project. We need your ideas about how this green space can best serve the needs of Thornton Creek and the Lake City community.
