City of Cape Coral Monitoring Tropical Storm Conditions

August 2, 2024

As the City of Cape Coral continues to monitor the tropics, we encourage residents and local businesses to prepare for inclement weather. The system is expected to bring tropical storm conditions including gusty winds and heavy rain to Southwest Florida Saturday night and in to Sunday.

STORM SAFETY:

  • Please pull all trash totes inside and secure loose items outside by Saturday.
  • Residents should tune in to local media for area-specific weather updates.
  • Don't let children play in the rain and standing water.
  • Stay indoors during the height of the wind, and avoid unnecessary trips.
  • Don't drive through flooded water (turn around, don't drown).

CITY FACILITIES:

  • At this time, City Hall and ancillary offices plan to operate regular business hours on Monday, August 5. A separate notice will be sent out in the event that this changes.

STAY UPDATED:

  • Follow the City of Cape Coral Government on Facebook for current, up-to-date information at facebook.com/CityofCapeCoral and visit our website at www.CapeCoral.gov for additional resources.
  • Sign up for Alert Lee to receive emergency messages directly to your cell phone. Register for free at alertlee.com.
In the event of a City-wide outage (power, internet, cell-service, etc.) use your hand-crank radio to tune into B-103.9, and visit any Cape Coral fire station for emergency information.
