Dentsply Sirona partners with Alexandria University in Egypt on inovative dental facilities

Dentsply Sirona is supporting Alexandria University on the design and opening of its new campus in Egypt. Providing comprehensive dental solutions, the company strives to further support rising and promising academic partners in their expansion towards global dental education and research.

Charlotte, N.C., DATE, 2024. Dentsply Sirona, the world's largest manufacturer of professional dental products and technologies, has partnered with Alexandria University in Egypt to support the design and fit-out of its new campus. The company is supplying products and solutions for the university's new Faculty of Dentistry buildings. The new Faculty of Dentistry site will begin hosting students in October 2024, with the facilities set to be fully up and running by December this year.

Breaking boundaries in dental education and imaging

The new Alexandria University campus will include three buildings dedicated to the Faculty of Dentistry, as well as the largest radiology department in MENA, five operation theaters, and the largest ICU in MENA. The dental facilities will be equipped with 756 Intego treatment centers, 65 SIM Intego simulation units, and X-ray units. Furthermore, Alexandria University's Faculty of Dentistry has placed a pre-order for the planned dental-dedicated magnetic resonance imaging (ddMRI) scanner Magnetom Free.Max Dental Edition1 positioning itself at the forefront of medical research innovation.

Expanding international collaborations and research

To date, 76 graduating classes have completed their studies at the Alexandria University Faculty of Dentistry since 1948 - which currently enrolls 4,600 graduate students and 2,000 postgraduate students, including a 60 percent international student cohort from 18 countries. As the university prepares to move to its new campus, it is also expanding its international partnerships, with new joint program initiatives with leading European dental faculties. By collaborating with partners around the world, the university strives to ensure its programs meet international standards and requirements for dentistry practice.
