Ogilvy Named 2023 Global Agency of the Year by Adweek

On the back of significant new business momentum, acquisition of key talent, impactful creative campaigns and more, Adweek today unveiled Ogilvy as its 2023 Global Agency of the Year.

Adweek cited Ogilvy's new business "hot streak" as a key reason for the recognition, a run that was fueled by headline-grabbing wins with Verizon, SC Johnson, Jameson, and H&R Block. The agency's relationships with current clients was integral to its success as well, with Jonathan Adashek, chief communications officer and senior vice president of marketing and communications at IBM saying, "[Ogilvy] have been an important seat at the table in defining our campaign structure, how we go to market and, overall, how we think about brand-to-demand."

Ogilvy last won the recognition from Adweek in 2016, with this return marking a "reinvigoration of the brand." Ogilvy's recent success is largely due to a simplification of the agency's mission and values: to do the right thing, do the best work of your life, and to do it together, says Global CEO Devika Bulchandani. "We simplified our mission. We made sure that 15,000 people all over the world in every country were aligned on that mission."

And for Global Chief Creative Officer Liz Taylor, the win is a testament to Ogilvy's driving ethos of borderless creativity. "It's not just saying 'borderless creativity;' it's how we work," Taylor said. "It's relentless collaboration."
