City Council To Recognize Larry Ruvo

Citizens Of The Month Also To Be Recognized

The Las Vegas City Council will recognize Larry Ruvo, co-founder and chairman of Keep Memory Alive, at the Oct. 2, 2024, City Council meeting that will begin at 9 a.m. in Council Chambers on the second floor of City Hall, located at 495 S. Main St.

Mayor Carolyn Goodman will recognize Ruvo for his long history of local philanthropy, including playing a pivotal role in bringing the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health to Symphony Park. Renowned architect Frank Gehry designed the building, and it has become a cutting-edge facility for brain-health treatment and research. Ruvo is a successful, longtime business executive whose own father suffered from Alzheimer's disease.

In addition, Mayor Pro Tem Brian Knudsen will recognize the Children's Advocacy Alliance of Nevada as the October 2024 Citizens of the Month. The Alliance is an independent voice that works to improve early childhood education, children's health and child welfare. Part of the organization's mission is to make sure every child has the chance to thrive.

The meeting will be broadcast live on cable channel 2, and at www.kclv.tv/live.

Public comment will be available for items on the agenda until 5 p.m. Oct. 1, at www.lasvegasnevada.gov/councilcomment. Those wishing to comment on items on the council agenda are invited to do so online, or to attend the meeting in person and participate in the public comment periods.
