Why the Blue Flag is flying again on Exmouth seafront

The Blue Flag is more than a symbol of water quality; it represents a commitment to comprehensive beach management, waste management, accessibility, and environmental education. Achieving this status requires meeting strict international standards and has been awarded to Exmouth beach for each of the past 6 years.

East Devon Council's officers are responsible for the overall beach management and are closely monitoring the situation in Exmouth to ensure the safety of the beach and the wellbeing of its users. The water pollution is out of the council's control, but should any further pollution incidents arise, the Blue Flag will be immediately lowered until the situation is fully resolved.
