The visit of the Mayor of Yerevan to Los Angeles

On 23-29 November, a delegation of the Municipality of Yerevan, led by Mr. Tigran Avinyan, the Mayor of Yerevan visited Los Angeles. On November 25 the Armenian delegation was received by Ms. Karen Bass, Mayor of Los Angeles and Mr. Paul Krekorian, Council member and President of the last two years of the City Council of Los Angeles. The prospects of future cooperation between the sister cities of Yerevan and Los Angeles were discussed during the meeting and subsequent working lunch. An MoU in the field of IT and smart solutions has been signed between the Municipality of Yerevan and Information Technology Agency of Los Angeles. During the next several days the delegation led by Mayor Avinyan also visited the Departments of transportation, planning and safety, emergency management, as well as LA Sanitation and "Athens", a private waste collection and recycling company.

On November 26, an official reception on the occasion of the visit of Mayor Avinyan to Los Angeles has been organized at the Consulate General of Armenia. Mr. Paul Krekorian, Adrin Nazarian, newly elected member of LA City Council, Mr. Ardashes Kassakhian, Mr. Ara Najarian, Mr. Vartan Gharpetian - council members of the City of Glendale, Mr. Roubik Golanian, City Manager of Glendale and other officials participated in the reception. After the welcoming remarks of Consul General Karen Israyelyan, Mr. Tigran Avinyan and Mr. Paul Krekorian shared their insights and thoughts about the visit and the meetings.
