Statement from The Ohio State University on the passing of Senator Kirk Schuring
Ohio Senator Kirk Schuring was a tireless advocate for his constituents in Canton and worked to improve the lives of all Ohioans as a member of the legislature since 1993.
Having served as Senate Pro Tempore and House Majority Leader, Senator Schuring built his legislative career working across the aisle to champion critical issues, including preserving Ohio's retirement pension systems and expanding financial aid programs for college students. He was a longtime supporter of the state and The Ohio State University.
Senator Schuring was a mentor and a friend to many across the Buckeye state, and the university is grateful for his public service.
