Clemson University's Division of Community, Engagement, Belonging and Access, kicks off a series of free Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) events for K-12 students with an event at Spring Valley High School on August 24.

Through a new partnership with STEM Global Action, Clemson is launching the STEM South Carolina (STEM SC) initiative as part of the University's mission to enhance educational access to all students for success in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math.

The first event, STEM FEST, is a community-based celebration of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math for up to 1000 students and parents. Attendees participate in 50 hands-on stations, perform experiments, watch demonstrations, and meet professionals from a variety of career backgrounds. Each station is manned by collegiate and professional volunteers.

Registration and volunteer sign-up opportunities are available at Clemson.edu/stem-sc.

Future events include a STEM FEST in Greenville on Oct. 5 and STEM Saturdays scheduled for Sept. 14 in Florence and Nov. 9 in Rock Hill.
