Cahill Gordon & Reindel LLP is deeply saddened by the passing of our former partner and friend, Daniel J. Zubkoff, on November 27, 2024.
Dan called Cahill home for more than 30 years and had a profound impact on the firm, serving with dedication and vision in a wide range of leadership roles, including ten years on the Executive Committee, before his retirement in 2021.
Dan was a pioneer in the firm's industry-leading Capital Markets and Banking & Finance practices, where he focused on a broad range of capital markets and lending transactions. Dan's brilliant legal mind and commercial judgment were integral to the establishment of Cahill's lasting prominence in the leveraged finance markets.
"Dan was a trusted advisor to the firm's clients and also a mentor and friend to the partnership and the firm's lawyers, including me, for many years." said Herb Washer, Chair of Cahill's Executive Committee. "He was an innovative lawyer and talented business leader. We mourn his loss profoundly and send our condolences to his wife Pauline, his children, and to all of his loved ones."

About Daniel J. Zubkoff
Daniel Zubkoff joined Cahill Gordon & Reindel LLP in 1982, and served as a partner at the firm for more than thirty years, including serving on the Executive Committee for ten years, until his retirement in 2021.
Over his long career, he represented many leading domestic and international commercial and investment banking firms in connection with a variety of financing transactions. Dan also represented corporate borrowers in connection with financing and restructuring transactions. Dan was integral to the development of the leverage finance markets as we know them today.
Dan had experience practicing in a variety of industries including media and technology, oil and gas, homebuilding and building products, food and beverages and healthcare. He was consistently named among the top finance lawyers by Chambers USA, Chambers Global, the International Financial Law Review (IFLR1000) and The Legal 500, and has been recommended by Institutional Investor/Euromoney in their Guide to the World's Leading Capital Markets Lawyers.
Dan received his J.D., cum laude, from Harvard Law School in 1982, and his A.B., magna cum laude, from Cornell University in 1979.
