Bridge Rail Replacement Work Along State Route 82/El Camino Real Santa Clara County

Santa Clara County - Beginning August 26, Caltrans crews will begin bridge railing replacement at three locations and closure of an existing pedestrian undercrossing along Route 82(SR-82)/El Camino Real. The bridge railing replacements are located at the University Avenue Overcrossing, and San Francisquito Creek, in Palo Alto, and De La Cruz Boulevard, in Santa Clara, Santa Clara County. The purpose of this project is to replace and upgrade existing vehicular and pedestrian railings SR 82, improve curb ramps, sidewalks, signals, and lights and to close underutilized non- ADA compliant pedestrian tunnels. Bridge railing replacement is scheduled to be complete Spring of 2025.

The public will have limited and/or restricted access to sidewalks, and curb ramps while this work is taking place.

Hours of Activity: Monday to Friday:
6:00 AM to 4:00 PM until project is complete Spring of 2025.
