James Ribbron Appointed to Third Term as Director of City of Detroit Board of Zoning Appeals

The Detroit City Council has officially appointed James W. Ribbron, MCD, BSP, to a third term as director of the Board of Zoning Appeals (BZA). Ribbron, a seasoned public servant with more than 35 years of dedicated service to the City of Detroit, will begin his six-year term September 1, 2024. Having spent the past 12 years at the helm of the BZA, Ribbron has been instrumental in overseeing appeals of Buildings, Safety Engineering and Environmental Department's (BSEED) decisions related to building permits. His extensive knowledge and experience have been invaluable in ensuring a fair and transparent process for Detroit residents and businesses. "I am honored to be entrusted with the opportunity to continue serving the City of Detroit in this capacity," said Ribbron. "I look forward to working collaboratively with our communities to streamline the development process and create thriving neighborhoods."
