Cobb PARKS welcomes back the Mable House Harvest Festival with exciting new additions

Cobb PARKS is excited to announce the return of the beloved Mable House Harvest Festival on Saturday, Oct. 12 from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Sponsored by the Friends of the Mable House, this free community event invites attendees to step back in time and experience 19th-century farm life.

Immerse yourself in history with captivating blacksmithing, pickling, pottery, and weaving demonstrations. From hand spinning to butter churning for Johnny Cakes, visitors can witness firsthand the daily routines of 1800s farmers. Enjoy close encounters with farm animals at Cricket's Mobile Petting Zoo and adopt a furry friend from Cobb County Animal Services.

Relax to the sounds of award-winning bluegrass band End of the Line or experience the high-energy percussion performance by Jerry G. White on the Cobb County mobile stage. Bring your favorite chair or a cozy blanket and enjoy the shows. Get hands-on with candle making, letter stamping, and cornhusk doll crafting. Test your skills in the laundry maze or join in the fun with leisure games, potato sack and three-legged races, hoop rolling, and the historic game of graces.

For gardening enthusiasts, don't miss the inaugural seed swap hosted by the Georgia Native Plant Society and Keep Cobb Beautiful. Exchange heirloom seeds and gardening tips with fellow plant lovers.
Families with young children can enjoy a variety of activities at the Sweet Potato House, where the South Cobb Regional Library will be hosting crafts and story time sessions. The Cobb Bookmobile will also be on site, offering a selection of books for all ages.

While exploring the festival, take a free tour of the historic Mable House, a National Register of Historic Places landmark. Satisfy your hunger with hot dogs, hamburgers, popcorn, and drinks from the South Cobb Lions Club, desserts from the Girls Scouts, or hand-crafted sweets from Penny's Candies. Join us for a day of family-friendly fun, celebrating local history and the beauty of the season.
