Female authors from the Western Balkans take the stage in Berlin

The EEAS is bringing the EU and Western Balkans closer by supporting six talented female authors from the region at the International Literature Film Festival in Berlin. Under the auspices of the Belgrade-based organization Krokodil Festival, these contemporary authors will take the stage in Berlin, sharing their poetry and prose through readings and interviews over two evenings. The EEAS is proud to help showcase the vibrant literary creativity of the Western Balkans on a global stage.

The six authors participating are:

• Diana Çuli from Albania
• Adelina Tërshani from Kosovo
• Rumena Bužarovska from North Macedonia Lejla Kalamujić from Bosnia and Herzegovina
• Barbara Delać from Montenegro and
• Barbi Marković from Serbia/Austria

The speakers and participants will also engage in lively debates tackling some of the most burning topics of our day and age particularly via the prism of a female perspective from the South-East corner of the European continent.

Aslo featuring is Croatian musical innovator Ane Paška and her unique music-scenic ritual which merges theater, music, text, and video into new performance forms, creating her distinctive and authentic style.

Chairing these talks is accomplished author Mima Simić, a dedicated LGBTQI activist who also presents KROKODIL Festival.
