Community Solutions Northwest Receive Veterans Foundation Funding | Member News

Hyndburn based charity Community Solutions Northwest are pleased to announce that they have secured funding from the Veterans Foundation for the next 2 years.

Through Community Solutions our veterans will have access to counselling and bereavement support, a wide range of training and personal development opportunities, employment support, and befriending and social groups where they can make crucial connections. We know that social isolation is a major factor impacting their health and wellbeing.

The funding will help us support participants to design a bespoke package of support enabling them to progress towards their identified goals at a pace that works for them. Whether overcoming crisis or other challenges, building confidence, accessing therapy, or support with employment or training, we will help people to take their first and next positive steps, walking alongside them.

Having a dedicated veterans' support coordinator will also enable us to develop activities and groups designed for/with veterans, and to support our veterans to make better connections with other veterans' groups. Our coordinator will encourage and support our veterans to be front and centre at our events and celebrations, whether celebrating our heritage at our Summer Fair, or remembering our veterans and serving Armed Forces on Remembrance Sunday or Armistice Day. We are extremely proud of our military heritage and the role Elmfield Hall played in WWI and will ensure this is a highlighted theme as we continue to develop Elmfield Hall.
