Get ready to dink it or sink it during this fun, friendly community-based pickleball tournament on Saturday, December 28 at the Sterling Heights Community Center! The competition will be broken up into two divisions, beginner and advanced, with a maximum of 20 players (10 teams) in each division.
Registration
Registration is available in-person at the Community Center (40250 Dodge Park Rd). Please register on your own. If you have a partner, you can indicate that when you register. If you do not have a partner, we can match you up with one. You must know the rules of pickleball, how to serve and keep score and how to resolve conflicts amicably. Cost is $35 per player.
Beginner 2.5 - 3.0 Level or Equivalent
11 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Players should know how to serve and keep score. They come to the net on occasion but do not have really reliable third shot, volley strategies, and they may not have a high-level understanding of court positioning. If you're around the bottom 50% of rec play at the Community Center, you're good for this level.
Advanced 3.5 - 4.0 Level or Equivalent
2 p.m. - 5 p.m.
Players at this level get to the net on almost every point, and they understand and can apply third shot strategies, volleys and court positioning. If you're around the top 50% of rec play at the Community Center, this level is for you.
