Adam Moore Joins Villa Maria as Vice President for Finance, Amanda Miner Joins as Accounting Manager

Villa Maria's team has grown by two. Adam Moore has joined Villa Maria College as its vice president for finance while Amanda Miner has accepted the role of accounting manager.

As the vice president for finance, Moore will serve as a key member of Villa Maria's executive management team and the chief administrative officer in charge of finances. This includes management of business office operations, ownership of accounting and accounting systems, budgeting, tuition and fee collection, payroll, accounts payable, treasury functions, risk management, compliance management, purchasing, and investment management. In addition, Moore will oversee human resources.

Moore will join the President's Cabinet; he will work with President Giordano and other vice presidents on strategic planning and College-wide decision-making.

"Adam distinguished himself as a knowledgeable, hardworking, and promising candidate," said Dr. Giordano. "We are fortunate to have him joining our team and look forward to working with him as we continue this unprecedented period of growth."

Moore brings years of experience in banking, higher education, small business, and a range of software systems to the College. He holds a Master of Business Association from D'Youville University, a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from SUNY Buffalo, and a Certificate in Management Accounting from Cornell University. Most recently, he worked as the director of financial planning & analysis at Trocaire College.

Moore succeeds Rick Pinkowski, who served as Villa's vice president for finance since 2019. Rick has been instrumental in accelerating Villa's evolution and growth. His experience, expertise, and broad understanding of higher education will be impossible to replace. He has stabilized and professionalized our financial operations, contributed extensively to our strategic decision-making, and exemplified our mission and core values.

Also new to the Business Office is Amanda Miner. Miner is a seasoned professional, bringing years of experience in corporate accounting to the College. She comes to Villa Maria from Lumsden & McCormick, where she worked as a tax accountant for nearly five years.

There, she gained experience in tax compliance and planning services, general accepted accounting principles (GAAP), tax accounting, and expense reporting. She also brings her expertise in QuickBooks, Excel and other finance/accounting systems to Villa Maria's Business Office.

"Amanda has a strong background in accounting, making her an ideal candidate for this role," said Dr. Giordano. "She is competent, detail-oriented, and well-practiced in balancing multiple assignments at once."

Miner earned a Bachelor of Applied Science in Accounting and Psychology and a Master of Business Administration in Accounting from Medaille University.
