Kaufhof Saarbrücken Sold: Creditors' Meeting Approves - Premium Project Planned on 10,000 sqm of Land

BERLIN - 2 September 2024 - A new project is being planned on the 10,000 square meter Kaufhof Saarbrücken site. Only a few months after filing for insolvency, the creditors' meeting of the seller company approved the sale. The buyer, who does not want to be named, intends to upgrade the Bahnhofstrasse in Saarbrücken's city center with the new development.

Kaufhof Saarbrücken GmbH filed for insolvency proceedings to be opened at the Berlin Charlottenburg district court on January 19 of this year. In May, insolvency administrator Prof. Dr. Torsten Martini from the law firm GÖRG initiated a structured sales process for the site with a plot area of around 10,000 sqm, a building area of over 50,000 sqm and a multi-storey parking lot with 600 parking spaces.
