The Southfield City Council has established the following Rules of Procedure for all speakers:

  • No speaker may make personal or impertinent attacks upon any officer, employee, or City Council member or other Elected Official, that is unrelated to the manner in which the officer, employee, or City Council member or other Elected Official, performs his or her duties.
  • No person shall use abusive or threatening language toward any individual when addressing the City Council.

Any person who violates this section shall be directed by the presiding officer to be orderly and silent. If a person addressing the Council refuses to become silent when so directed, such person may be deemed by the presiding officer to have committed a "breach of the peace" by disrupting and impeding the orderly conduct of the public meeting of the City Council and may be ordered by the presiding officer to leave the meeting. If the person refuses to leave as directed, the presiding officer may direct any law enforcement officer who is present to escort the violator from the meeting.
The Council may not provide responses to public comments during the meeting. If you have provided your contact information when you signed up for public communications, the City will provide a more formal response to you in the near future.

ORDINANCES

A. Enact Ordinance No. 1794, PZRMUCD24-0001 rezone the parcel at 19111 W. 10 Mile Road, Southfield, Michigan (Parcel 24-26-126-028) from OS Office Service to MUCD Mixed Use Corridor District to permit renovation of the vacant office building for a mixture of commercial and multiple family residential uses.

B. Enact Ordinance No. 1795, PZTA24-0002, Zoning Ordinance Text Amendment to amend Title V, Zoning and Planning, Chapter 45, Zoning, of the Code of the City of Southfield by amending Article 4 - Sections 5.22-7 and 5.22-8; to change the permitted hours of operation of Medical Marihuana Provisioning Centers and Adult-use Marijuana Retailers.

AGENDA ITEMS FOR DISCUSSION AND / OR ACTION

A. Presentation and discussion regarding the proposed rezoning of the southern part of 19421 W 10 Mile from R-E Single Family to OS Office Service to match the existing zoning on the northern part of the site and to establish an approved site plan for the existing church that will permit construction of a new storage shed (PZR24-0009 and PSP24-0013)

B. Presentation and discussion regarding the proposed rezoning (B-3 General Business to RC Regional Center) and site plan for 25100 Northwestern Highway to permit the renovation/conversion of an existing hotel to multiple family residential apartments for veterans (PZR24-0010 and PSP24-0015)
