Petroperú resumes operations at Station 5 of the North Peruvian Pipeline

After several days of negotiations between teachers, indigenous organizations, the Regional Government of Loreto and representatives of the Central Government, the group of residents of the native communities, who for 37 days settled in Station 5 of the North Peruvian Pipeline (ONP), peacefully withdrew from this industrial oil pumping operation, located in the district of Manseriche, Datem del Marañón province, Loreto.

The consensus on the attention of the requests made to the education sector was achieved this Thursday, after various meetings held in Lima and in the town of San Lorenzo (Datem del Marañón) between representatives of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, the Regional Government of Loreto, the Provincial Municipality of Datem del Marañón, the Subprefecture of San Lorenzo and the leaders of the collective " Siete Pueblos Originarios de Manseriche", which allowed the evacuation and release of the station.

In the next few hours, Petroperú personnel, who for safety reasons had been evacuated after the takeover of the Station on August 19, will gradually return to these facilities. In the same way, an evaluation of the current state is being carried out and, subsequently, the resumption of activities.

It is appropriate to reaffirm the company's permanent commitment to dialogue as a mechanism for achieving consensus that benefits and facilitates the improvement of the quality of life of native communities, in a joint effort with the various levels of the State.
