Woman Fined For Series Of Shop Theft At Changi Airport

On 25 July 2024, a 23-year-old female Indian national, Dudi Mansi, was convicted for theft and fined $500 for her involvement in a series of shop-theft cases at Changi Airport.

On 17 July 2024, the Police were alerted to a case of shop theft after a tube of lip gloss valued at $20 was discovered missing from a retail outlet located in the transit area of Changi Airport. Through ground enquiries and with the aid of images from closed-circuit television (CCTV), officers from the Airport Police Division quickly established the identity of the woman and arrested her before she departed the country.

Further investigations revealed that she was also involved in theft of cosmetics amounting to $135 from another outlet in the transit area on the same day.

The Police take a serious view of shop theft cases and offenders will be dealt with firmly in accordance with the law. Offenders should not think that they can evade capture by quickly boarding a flight; the Police will continue to work closely with stakeholders to prevent and deter shop theft cases.
