Homicide Investigation – Arrest : C24-149754

On July 1, 2024, at approximately 12:14 a.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the 600 block of King Edward Street for the report of an injured adult male.

Attending West District General Patrol officers located the unresponsive male who had sustained life-threatening injuries. The victim was transported to hospital in critical condition, where he later succumbed to her injuries. Officers arrested an adult male suspect in the vicinity.

The Homicide Unit has assumed the investigation and has identified the victim as 43-year-old Eugene Rob Ryan LITTLE of Winnipeg. Family notifications have been made.

Investigators learned the victim and the suspect, who were known to one another, were involved in a verbal dispute, which escalated with the suspect physically assaulting the victim.

Dion Tyson Jamie WOOD, 23, of Winnipeg, is charged with Manslaughter and is detained in custody.
