39 fresh graduates from Etis IB!

Friday 30th August was a day to relish. Thirty nine graduates earned the right to wear their white caps and all but two were able to join us in person in Dipoli, the main auditorium of Aalto University to mark the occasion. Our guest speaker was Dr Joshua Karlsson, an alumnus from 2010 with the AICE Programme (which preceded the introduction of the IB Diploma). We have come to value the sense of perspective that graduates can offer to fresh graduates and Joshua´s message about the importance of mobility, embracing change and readiness to network was definitely worth them hearing. The music was stunning. We have such capable singers and musicians in this school. Whilst the Head, Anni Virnes, stressed the versatility of the diploma, the Coordinator David Crawford spoke about the recent alumni survey in which 96% of respondents agreed that the DP experience had been beneficial (20%) or highly beneficial (76%). The tears of joy and the warm embraces during and after the ceremony are testimony to the strength of emotion welling up on such a special day. There were plenty of proud parents in the audience of up to 300 people. We wish all out graduates a fantastic future and thank them for enriching our lives in Etis over the last three years.
