Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. CQ Brown, Jr., spoke with Chief of the Israeli General Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi yesterday by phone.

The two leaders discussed ongoing security developments in the Middle East and the need to deescalate tensions through a diplomatic solution.

The U.S. continues to work with international allies and partners to avoid wider conflict in the region and remains postured to protect U.S. forces.
