Serbia, Azerbaijan committed to strengthening cooperation in various fields

Representatives of the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Azerbaijan participated today in Baku in the eighth session of the Intergovernmental Commission for Trade and Economic Cooperation, during which a protocol was signed and agreements were reached in the fields of economy, infrastructure, energy, agriculture and culture.

At the session, chaired by Minister of Culture Nikola Selaković on behalf of Serbia, and Minister of Labor and Social Protection Sahil Babayev on behalf of Azerbaijan, it was concluded that the work of the Commission takes place in the context of dynamic Serbian-Azerbaijani relations, which significantly contributes to the development of strategic partnership, and especially economic relations between the two countries.

Also, numerous perspectives of economic cooperation in different areas were discussed.

Selaković and Babayev emphasised that bilateral relations are based on fundamental norms and principles of international law, including respect for sovereignty, territorial integrity and the inviolability of internationally recognised borders.

Also, Selaković expressed his gratitude for the support that Azerbaijan provides to Serbia in connection with the issue of Kosovo and Metohija and pointed out the commitment of our country to the principles of respect for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of UN member states, and within that framework, the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan.

Babayev emphasized that Serbia and Azerbaijan are connected by friendly and partnership relations, which are based on active political dialogue at the highest level.
