Sena Tela Convicted of Robbery over Facebook Marketplace Exchange

June 6, 2024

(Anchorage, AK) - Last week, an Anchorage jury found Sena Tela, 43, guilty of Robbery in the First Degree, Assault in the Third Degree, Vehicle Theft in the First Degree, and Theft in the Third Degree.

The evidence presented at trial showed that following a disagreement over a Facebook Marketplace exchange, Tela lured the victim to an isolated location. Once there, Tela used a realistic-looking BB gun to force the victim to hand over money and a vehicle he was towing. Anchorage Police Department officers responded and quickly apprehended Tela.

Tela will be sentenced by Superior Court Judge Andrew Guidi on Nov. 7, 2024. Tela faces up to 20 years imprisonment for the robbery. Tela is being held without bail by the Alaska Department of Corrections.

This case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Matthew Kaste and Jeffrey Daybell. It was investigated by the Anchorage Police Department.
